The green desktop dot, the red pop-up over a document, the orange acknowledgement.

Every way to trigger it
On-screen button, system-tray icon, keyboard hotkey, and an optional USB desk button.
Add a physical button where it helps, from A$25 plus delivery. Unlike a hardwired button, Duress Alert warns you on screen the moment a button is unplugged, and confirms when it’s back, so you never discover a dead button during an emergency. And if a button ever fails, staff can still raise the alert from the screen, tray icon or hotkey.
No server hardware. Duress Alert runs on any Windows PC you already leave on, your reception or practice-management machine is perfect. Alerts travel over your own network, so they keep working even when the internet is down.
The moment a colleague responds, the person who raised the alert sees their button turn orange, they know help is coming before it arrives.
“We had three separate incidents involving aggression toward our GPs within a few months. Since installing Duress Alert, staff have used it to defuse situations before they escalated.”
Liz Baker, Practice Manager, Perth WA
“Our head receptionist managed the front desk alone and had to shout across the clinic for help when a patient became abusive. Since installing Duress Alert she feels a lot safer.”
Sanjay Gultibe, Sydney NSW
“Our receptionist hit the fixed button under the desk during a confrontation, and found out later it was broken. With Duress Alert she knows: if it’s green, we can see her.”
Sally Anderton, Legal Practice, VIC

Under WHS law in every Australian state and territory, employers must provide a safe workplace so far as is reasonably practicable, and a duress alarm is a recognised control for occupational violence. Duress Alert’s dated raise → respond → reset history is evidence you can table.
Where next? Rolling it out across a fleet? → PC-based panic alarm software for IT teams. Protecting a front desk? → Office panic button software for reception. Worried about outages? → How local alerting survives an internet outage.
Is a duress alarm the same as a panic button?
In Australia, “duress alarm”, “duress button” and “panic button” are used interchangeably. Duress Alert is the same product whichever term your policy uses.
